Critical Hit is an experiment in Socialism in One Website: an encyclopaedia owned and managed by a worker's collective consisting of all of its members (i.e. a wiki that anyone can edit).

It deals with radical theory, but, in general, anything that is either: a. pretentious, b. incomprehensible, c. upsetting to the Daily Mail, or d. a combination thereof.

Critical Hit's two mottos are:

  • Ignore the adverts!
  • Demystify the demystifiers!

Some may say that putting complicated ideas into plain English oversimplifies them. They are very possibly right. But this is a wiki, and should certainly err on the side of simplicity, while nodding people in the direction of fuller, denser accounts.

Antonio Gramsci (22nd January, 1891 - 27th April, 1937) was a major twenieth-century Marxist philosopher and political theorist. Gramsci's major work is known as the Prison Notebooks, a collection of his writings from his long imprisonment by the Italian Fascist government.
